What is HRM?
Human Resource Management is the process of recruiting, selecting, inducting employees, providing orientation, imparting training and development, appraising the performance of employees, deciding compensation and providing benefits, motivating employees, maintaining proper relations with employees and their trade unions, ensuring employees safety, welfare and health measures in compliance with labor laws of the land. Importance of HRM
There is a human mind, commitment and hours of man behind the creation of every product or service. Without human assistance, no product or service can be made. Human beings are a basic tool for creating and constructing something. Any organization wishes to have people who are skilled and competent to make their organization competent and best. Accordingly HRM can be used to manage the HR in a business and get the best out of them. (Management Study Guide Privacy Policy, 2019) There are ample reasons to highlight the importance of an organization's human resource management. As follows, a few points that show us why it is important to manage human resources.

The Main Function and Activities of HRM
HRM is management in planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling of the procurement, development, compensation, integration, maintenance and separation of human resources. (Management Study Guide Privacy Policy, 2019)

Human resource management operations are therefore divided into two main fields as shown in the image below.


Main Activities of HRM
·         Tasks
1.      Selection
Mean is we called among the applicants who can meet the job requirements. Among those applicants we selected qualified candidates and can be offered the vacant position in the organization. (Human Resource Management, 2019)

2.      Recruitment
The best qualified candidate for a job opening in a timely and cost effective manner. The recruitment process includes analyzing, the requirements of the job, attracting, employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring and integrating the new employee to the organization. 3.      Payroll
Total amount required to pay workers and employees during a week, month or other period. (Dotdash publishing family, 2018)


4.      Motivation
Internal and external factors that stimulate desire and energy in people to be continually interested and committed to a job role or subject or to make an effort to attain a goal. (Management Study Guide Privacy Policy, 2019)

5.      Rewards
Business use to reward employees for their achievements and success as a motivational practice. The Company sets goals and establishes rules for its employees to follow to achieve those goals. (MBASkool.com, 2011- 2019)

6.      Termination
Final step in the progressive employee discipline process where his or her employment with the employer is permanently served. (Human Resource Management, 2019)

The official and ongoing educational activities within an organization designed to enhance the fulfillment and performance of employees training and development programs offered by a business might a variety of educational techniques and programs that can be attended on a compulsory or voluntary basis by staff.  (Management Study Guide Privacy Policy, 2019)

·         Performance Management
This is the process of motivating employees through setting goals, measuring progress, giving feedback, coaching for improvements and rewarding achievements. (Management Study Guide Privacy Policy, 2019)



·         Employee Relations
Communication between management and employees concerning work place decisions, grievances, conflicts, problem resolving, unions and issues of collective bargaining
